erm... as a perpetual introvert i kinda find i get an emotionall kick out stories that either go agianst the grain of the streight man or basically beat the shit out of my black & white perception of things.  its been many years since i killed of my uncomfortabilites with gay relations and most of this has been due to the ever prominant layers of the anime culture- so called forbbin loves or gender bending/swapping.  it probably started with evangalion- i thought it cool that i could relate to a trendy anime character,  sadly for me, that character was shinji!   anyway i actually routed for the shinji/kawru thing. though awska was hot- the awska/ rei yuri art was hotter! it seemed i had developed a taste for same sex scinarios- because it seem to leave the participants looking so much more beautifull or cute.
